13 Bears Earn Scholar All-American Notice
BERKELEY – Thirteen Golden Bears have earned Scholar All-America honors from the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA), each with a spring grade-point average of at least 3.50. The announcement comes on the heels of Cal being named a Scholar All-America team for the 21st consecutive semester for its overall work in the classroom this past semester.
Five members of the squad are repeat recipients, including Courtney Mykkanen, who received notice for the fourth time in four years. Ali Harrison, Robin Neumann and Alexa Buckley are all three-time honorees, while Alicia Wilson is on the team for the second time. Buckley, Harrison, Mykkanen, Neumann and Wilson were also chosen for the Pac-12 Winter Academic Honor Roll, while Neumann was voted a CoSIDA Academic All-American.
To be eligible for the CSCAA team, student-athletes must have at least a 3.50 GPA and been invited to the NCAA Championships. Honorable mention selections must have met the GPA requirement and achieved an NCAA B qualifying standard or competed at the NCAA zone diving meet.
