18 Bears Named Scholar All-Americans

Jul 20, 2020

BERKELEY – Eighteen Golden Bears earned Scholar All-America honors from the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) this month, as each posted a spring 2020 grade-point average of at least 3.50.
Included among Cal's 18 student-athletes recognized were four-time selection Pawel Sendyk, three-time selections Nate Biondi and Andy Song and two-time selection Reece Whitley. The 14 other honorees were first-time selections. The full list of Cal selections is listed below.
To be eligible for individual CSCAA Scholar All-America honors, student-athletes must have at least a 3.50 GPA and have been invited to the NCAA Championships. Honorable mention selections must have met the GPA requirement and achieved an NCAA "B" qualifying standard or competed at the NCAA zone diving meet. Cal was also recognized as a Scholar All-American Team by the CSCAA in late June, marking the team's fifth honor in the last six semesters dating back to fall 2017.
