Six Huskies Named ITA Scholar-Athletes as UW Earns Team Honor
SEATTLE --- The Washington women's tennis team once again received an impressive off-the-court honor, earning ITA All-Academic Team honors for the 2019-20 season. In addition, six Huskies were named ITA Scholar-Athletes, boasting GPAs of 3.50 or higher for the year.
Washington's women's tennis team posted one of the best GPAs of any UW team at 3.56 during the 2019-20 season including an impressive 3.76 GPA in a tough spring quarter.
Individually, six Huskies earned individual honors, recording a GPA of 3.50 or higher for the year: Natsuho Arakawa, Ashley Chang, Sedona Gallagher, Katarina Kopcalic, Zoey Weil and Vanessa Wong.
To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, one must have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year and be listed on the institutional eligibility form. To earn ITA All-Academic Team recognition, programs must have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.00 scale), all student-athletes included should be listed on the institutional eligibility form, and all varsity letter winners should be factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year.
