Kelly and Schramm Have Strong Starts in Northwoods League
SALT LAKE CITY – Utah baseball has pitchers Justin Kelly and Dustyn Schramm participating in the Northwoods League this summer.
Kelly is pitching for the St. Cloud Rox and Schramm is on the Waterloo Bucks.
In four appearances this summer, Kelly has yet to surrender a run in 11 innings pitched and has recorded one save. He's struck out 10 batters in his four appearances.
The strong start in the Northwoods League continues from last season where Kelly got off to a great start in the 2020 season. In four starts on Friday nights, he held a 2.66 ERA.
Schramm has also been pitching well. He is 1-1 in five appearances with a 1.74 ERA. He's struck out 14 batters and has given up four earned runs in 20.2 innings pitched.
In the 13 games last spring, Schramm made five appearances out of the bullpen and held a 4.30 ERA.
Jayden Kiernan started out playing for the Waterloo Bucks as well, but as returned to Salt Lake after playing in 12 games. He hit .300 in 40 at bats with nine RBI.
The season will run into August with the final game on August 20.
