Pac-12 Presidents’ Vote Approves 2020 Fall Sports Dates and Policies

Jul 31, 2020

Official Pac-12 News Release

LOS ANGELES – The Pac-12 CEO group—comprised of presidents and chancellors from each member institution—voted to approve start dates and preseason practice policies for conference-only competition in women's volleyball on Friday, July 31.

Competition for women's volleyball would begin no earlier than Sept. 26, with complete schedules still to be announced. The same policies and dates were also set for men's and women's soccer, and men's and women's cross-country competition. The Pac-12 also approved and announced a competition schedule for football.

2020 marks the Trojans' first season under head coach Brad Keller, who previously served as the associate head coach at UCLA for one season (2019) and was an assistant coach for the Bruins' men's program for six years (2013-18). Last season, USC faced one of the nation's toughest schedules and finished with an 18-14 overall record despite several injuries and changes to the Trojans' lineup. The Women of Troy went 11-9 in the Pac-12 and landed in sixth place. USC received an at-large berth into the NCAA tournament and made its 37th all-time appearance in the tourney (29th consecutive) where the Trojans advanced to the second round before falling to top-seeded and No. 1-ranked Baylor. Outside hitter Khalia Lanier was honored as an AVCA second-team All-American.
