Statement from Mick Cronin, the Michael Price Family UCLA Men's Head Basketball Coach

"Tuesday's announcement regarding the delayed start to our basketball season did not come as a surprise, as the Pac-12 coaches have been meeting via Zoom the past five months. With Tuesday's news, I told our players that they are better off knowing when our season will begin. The Pac-12's adjusted time frame gives us clarity as we proceed through what has been an unusual time for so many. Our program is grateful for the leadership of Chancellor Gene Block and Martin Jarmond, as we navigate toward our return. I look forward to safely welcoming back and seeing our student-athletes soon. From our team's Zoom conversations, I know they're excited to get back to campus and resume our offseason workouts. I'm looking forward to coaching this group. The Pac-12 has been working through a number of scenarios, and I know that they're firmly committed to having basketball played in a safe environment for our student-athletes."
