Washington Athletics Announces Huskies All In Campaign

Aug 14, 2020

In the face of its greatest financial challenge to date, the University of Washington Department of Intercollegiate Athletics has announced the activation of a broad-based philanthropic campaign designed to mitigate the impending and dramatic effects of COVID-19 on budget stability.
Washington Athletics is asking Season Ticket Holders and its Husky family everywhere to participate in the Huskies All In Campaign.
After months of seeking to balance the safety of UW student-athletes and the desire to play in the fall, the Pac-12 CEO cohort, upon guidance from Pac-12 Medical Advisory Committee, made the decision to postpone competition through the end of 2020, and will evaluate the feasibility of resuming competition in the coming months.
The department has implemented several cost-saving measures, including salary reductions, department-wide furloughs and significant operating cuts. It will continue to implement cost-saving measures in an effort to mitigate financial deficits.
Gifts made to Huskies All In will go to directly support over $16 million in scholarships for 650 student-athletes and will support the continued sponsorship of all 22 of Washington's teams.
"Our community is unlike any other," said Jennifer Cohen, Director of Athletics. "I've grown up here. I've raised my family here, like so many of you. I have watched this community come together time and time again during adverse times. The Dawgs have brought us so many incredible moments and memories that span many generations. And now, we need to work and battle together to ensure those traditions live on in future years and for generations to come. The road ahead is daunting, but together, we can prevail. Mighty are the ones that wear the Purple and the Gold!"
