TUCSON, Ariz. — Arizona Gymnastics added two dynamic athletes to their incoming freshman class in Halli Mayberry and Taylor Raskin, head coach John Court announced in March.

The additions of Mayberry and Raskin bring the incoming recruiting class to eight gymnasts. Additional information on the six previously announced members of the class can be found here.

Halli Mayberry  |  Tucson, Ariz.  |  Arizona Dynamics
Halli trained with Gymnastics World Central from 2004-12 and with Arizona Dynamics from 2012-20. She is a Level 9 Arizona State Champion and a Level 9 National Beam Champion. During her prep career Halli also participated in cross country, where she earned the 2018 team's Outstanding Athlete Award at Canyon Del Oro High School.

"I chose Arizona because the environment of the U of A has always felt like home for me," Mayberry said. "I grew up watching the GymCats, always wanting to be one, and I love the energy Arizona has at every sporting event. I love the coaching staff, the campus, and the amazing team atmosphere, and it's a bonus I get to stay in my hometown."

"We are excited that Halli will be joining our program," Court said. "She is an excellent student and Tucson graduate. She has watched us compete from the stands for many years and now she will experience McKale center as a student-athlete. Halli is a natural beam worker and will provide us with competitive depth."
Taylor Raskin  |  Mequon, Wisc.  |  North Shore Academy of Gymnastics
Raskin boasts over a decade of training experience split between LaFleur's Gymnastics and North Shore Academy of Gymnastics while also competing for Homestead High School, where she earned First Team Division 1 All-Conference, All-State, and All-America honors as a sophomore, junior, and senior. She excelled in the classroom as well, earning High Honor Roll recognition and Merit Awards all four years in addition to National Honor Society membership as a junior and senior.

"I chose the University of Arizona because of its extensive academic opportunities, infinite extracurricular options, and beautiful campus," she said. "I am beyond excited to become part of the Arizona Gymnastics team thanks to its enthusiastic coaching and supportive team atmosphere!"

"Our program continues to attract athletes like Taylor," Court said. "She is extremely hard working and understands a team-first culture. She is enrolled in the Honors College and will be competitive for us on bars right away. Her brother will also be a freshman at Arizona and we are looking forward to her whole family being Wildcats!"
