TROON, Scotland – The second round of the 2020 AIG Women's British Open was completed this morning at Royal Troon Golf Club.

Three Sun Devils made the cut at the LPGA major and will compete in the third round of competition tomorrow morning. The first live television broadcast session of the third round runs from 6-9 a.m. (MST) on Golf Channel. The coverage then shifts to NBC for the second session, scheduled for 9-11 a.m.

Anna Nordqvist (2007-09) is in the best position of the golfers with Arizona State connections, ending up in a tie for 11th  (+3/145) after the first 36 holes. She sits just four strokes off the leader and fellow Swede Dani Holmqvist (-1/141).

Azahara Munoz (2006-09) carded similar results for the second consecutive day (+4/75) and finds herself in a tie for 40th. She made the cut and looks to build upon her two-under effort over her final six holes of the second round.

The third Sun Devil to make the cut was Carlota Ciganda (2009-11), who improved her score by three strokes (+3/74) compared to yesterday. As a result, she moved up 24 spots on the leaderboard and ascended above the cut line.

Linnea Strom (2016-17) battled hard to make the cut, but fell just one stroke short. A clutch birdie on the par-three 17th hole nearly allowed her to advance..

Competing in just her fourth professional event and third Women's British Open, Sun Devil Women's Golf senior Olivia Mehaffey showed flashes of the brilliance that allowed her to win the 2015 Scottish Amateur Open victory at the same site. She posted a 77 for the second consecutive round, recording three birdies.

She now turns her attention to the ANA Inspiration, earning a sponsor's exemption allowing her to compete in her second professional tournament of the fall. The LPGA event, which was scheduled to run April 2-5, was postponed due to the pandemic. The tournament will now take place September 10-13 at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, Calif. She is one of only five amateurs selected to compete at the LPGA major.

The third round of the 2020 AIG Women's Open begins early tomorrow morning, with the first group teeing-off at 1:27 A.M. (MST). Here is third round schedule for all three Sun Devils still in contention (All times MST):

Carlota Ciganda 1:07 A.M. (8/22)
Anna Nordqvist 5:52 A.M. (8/22)
Azahara Munoz 2:42 A.M. (8/22)
