Baseball Begins Team Practice for the Fall

Sep 28, 2020

SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah baseball team has begun team practices that will continue throughout the fall.

The team is on the field again together for the first time since last March when Covid-19 ended the 2020 baseball season.

"We've been at it for a while in individuals, and now it's time to get the whole team together," head coach Bill Kinneberg said. "We feel like we're in good shape physically, and it'll be interesting to start working together as a team. We're all excited to be together again."

Along with practicing during the week, they will be scrimmaging on Friday, Saturday and Sunday the next five weekends.

"Since we've started individuals and being on the field it does feel a little more normal," Kinneberg said. "It's great to be on the field and doing what we're supposed to be doing."

Utah finished last season 6-7 after winning two of three games against Minnesota and were preparing to begin Pac-12 play at Arizona State.

This year, the Utes welcome 12 newcomers along with the majority of last year's team back on campus.
