Two Wildcats Finish Top 20 in Athletes Unlimited

TUCSON, Ariz. -- Monday marked the end of the season for Athletes Unlimited, a successful inaugural season for the newest professional softball league.

After five weeks of nationally televised affairs, a champion was crowned and the sport of softball was taken to a larger audience through 57 of the best softball players in the country, including four Arizona alumnae, two of which finished the season ranked in the top 20.

Katiyana Mauga, who finished third in the league with six home runs in 53 at-bats, placed 13th overall with 1530 points. Danielle O'Toole finished second in the league in both ERA (2.82) and strikeouts (42), and finished No. 16 overall with 1434. Mandie Perez finished 42nd with 900 points and Taylor McQuillin finished 51st with 784 points.
