Oct 3, 2020

2020 Schedule | Pac-12 News Release

SAN FRANCISCO – The Pac-12 announced seven-game conference-only football schedules for the 2020 season on Saturday with Cal set to open the campaign by hosting Washington on Saturday, Nov. 7. Each of the league's 12 teams will play five divisional games and one crossover opponent before culminating the regular season with a full slate of contests the weekend of Dec. 18-19, highlighted by a home-hosted model of the Pac-12 Football Championship Game presented by 76 on Friday, Dec. 18.

After its home opener against the Huskies, Cal will travel to Arizona State (Nov. 14) and Oregon State (Nov. 21) for back-to-back road contests before returning home to host Stanford in the 123rd Big Game to be televised by either FOX or FS1 on Friday, Nov. 27. The Golden Bears will host defending Pac-12 champion Oregon (Dec. 5) before traveling Washington State (Dec. 12).

Games on the weekend of Dec. 18-19 will be announced at a later date.

Under current guidelines from both the state of California and the conference, no fans will be permitted to events on Pac-12 campuses out of health and safety concerns, although the policy will be revisited by the Pac-12 in January for future events should conditions allow.

Cal is playing a conference-only schedule for the first time in school history and opening a season against a Pac-12 opponent for the first time since a 27-25 win at UCLA on Sept. 4, 1993. The Nov. 7 start date is also the latest Cal has ever started a fall football season, starting 10 days later than the Oct. 28 season-opener of the 1893 club.

Every football game through the first six weeks of the season will be televised nationally by a combination of ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, FOX and FS1, with FOX televising the Pac-12 Football Championship Game. Exact television network broadcast schedules for all Cal games other than the already announced contest against Stanford will be determined at a later date.

All football competitions will be conducted in accordance with the Pac-12 COVID-19 Medical Advisory Committee health and safety recommendations and guidelines, as previously announced on September 24 when the Pac-12 CEO Group voted to resume football, basketball and winter sport seasons.
