Julian, Schell Named Scholar-Athletes of the Month
CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State football's Alton Julian and volleyball's Lindsey Schell have been named Scholar-Athletes of the Month for October.
Julian, a redshirt sophomore defensive back, is in his first year with the Beavers after transferring from the College of San Mateo, where he was rated as the nation's No. 8 junior college cornerback. He played one season there, redshirting in 2019, after a high school career at Valley Christian in the San Francisco Bay Area. A public health maior, he sports a 3.66 Oregon State grade point average.
Schell is a redshirt junior for the Beavers, who hails from Temecula, Calif. She has played in 60 matches over her first two seasons, having totaled 272 kills – averaging 1.39 per set - with 178 total blocks – 0.91 per set - and 32 digs. She was named to the 2018 Pac-12 All-Academic Second Team and the 2018 Iowa State Invitational All-Tournament Team. A kinesiology major, she sports a 3.80 GPA.
