Washington Signs Justin Hopkins to Class of 2021

Nov 11, 2020

SEATTLE – University of Washington men's golf head coach Alan Murray has announced the signing of Justin Hopkins to a national letter of intent for the Class of 2021.

"Justin embodies a lot of what we look for in a Husky golfer - an intelligent, hard-working and driven kid with a real passion for the game of golf," said Murray. "He has a sincere desire to be the best he can be, comes from a great family and will help make our program stronger. Playing in a great high school program that has a strong focus on leadership skills will help him adjust to being part of a program with lofty ambitions, both in the classroom and on the course. We are very excited for Justin to get to Montlake and help us compete and contend for championships."

From Danville, California, Hopkins has competed on the Future Collegians World Tour (FCWT) and picked up numerous top 10 showings. He claimed the title at the 2019 FCWT Half Moon Bay Classic and was third at the Coyote Creek Classic in 2018.

Hopkins attended De La Salle High School where he helped the team finish second at the 2019 CIF NorCal Boys Championship en route to placing fifth at the CIF State Championship. Additionally, during his freshman season, Hopkins was key in helping De La Salle won the 2018 NorCal Championship as he led the team with his fifth place finish.
