Huskies Welcome Jackson Grant to Montlake for Class of 2021
SEATTLE – University of Washington men's basketball head coach Mike Hopkins has announced the signing of Jackson Grant to a national letter of intent for the Class of 2021. Grant is ranked as the No. 38 player in ESPN's top 100 and will stay local as he hails from Olympia, Wash.
"We're lucky to get Jackson Grant and to have the chance to coach one of the best players in Washington state," said Hopkins. "He's got great size, is very skilled for his position and is a proven winner that will be a great addition to our program. We're thrilled to have such a true Husky on board."
The 6-10 forward is considered the No. 2 player in the state of Washington (by ESPN). He competed at Olympia High School and averaged 17 points and 11 rebounds as a junior to help lead the Bears to a fourth-place finish in the WIAA Class 4A Tournament. He was named The Tacoma News Tribune and The Olympian's 2020 All-Area Player of the Year following that state tournament run which was the Bears' best since 2011.
On the AAU circuit, Grant plays for Washington Supreme and has seen time with the USA Basketball family. He took part in the 2019 USA Basketball Men's Junior National Team October camp and the 2019 USA Basketball Men's Junior National Team July minicamp.
