SAN FRANCISCO – University of Utah sophomore Brynna Maxwell and junior Dru Gylten headline the Utes' selections to the 2020-21 Pac-12 Women's Basketball Preseason All-Conference Team, announced by the league office today.

It is the first time since the Utes joined the league in 2011 that they have earned spots on the Pac-12 preseason all-conference team with Maxwell notching a first-team nod and Gylten landing on the honorable mention list.

Maxwell, who became Utah's first freshman to earn Pac-12 All-Conference honors last season, led the league in three-pointers made (83), three-pointers per game (2.7) and finished second in three-point percentage (.472). She ranked fourth in the country in three-point percentage and was 25th overall nationally in threes made.

Her 83 threes made in 2019-20 set the Utah freshman record and ranks fifth all-time in single-season threes while her 407 points was the most by a Utah freshman since joining the Pac-12. She reached double-digits in 21 games as a freshman, knocking down two-or-more threes in 25 games.

Gylten enters her junior year with over 300-career assists (323), the fastest a player has achieved the mark in school history (two seasons). Gylten has played in 60 career games as a Ute, leading the team in assists in 40 of those, including five games with double-digit dishes.

In 2019-20, Gylten started in 30 games, finishing the year tied for second in the Pac-12 and 22nd in the country in total assists (159), also ranking third in the Pac-12 and 23rd nationally in assists per game (5.3). The junior also averaged 6.9 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.4 steals last season, recording a season-high 21 points against California and a career-high 12 assists against Arizona State.

Gylten, Maxwell and the Utes officially tip off the season on Wednesday, Nov. 25 when they host Southern Utah for the first of two non-conference games before starting Pac-12 play the weekend of Dec. 4-7.
