Kepler Signs Bonikowsky to NLI

SALE LAKE CITY – University of Utah head cross country and track & field coach Kyle Kepler announced the addition of Maddy Bonikowsky to the Utes for the 2021-22 season after signing her National Letter of Intent.
 
"We are excited to add Maddy to our program," said Kepler of the news. "She is accomplished on the track and in cross country as the reigning U18 Canadian champion. She brings a great mix of speed and endurance as a distance runner, which will greatly benefit her and our team.

Prior to Utah:
Highly decorated prep and youth career, garnering eight BC Provincial Championships – five in track & field and three in cross country … had a great 2019 season, winning the U18 Canadian Cross Country Championship, BC Club Cross Country Championships and the BC High School Championships … won multiple titles in the 800m and 1500m with her club track & field in 2018 and 2019 … named female athlete of the year and most outstanding student during her three years at South Delta Secondary School (8th-10th) … a two-time BC Athletics Cross Country Runner of the Year (2018, 2019) … also plays basketball at the prep level while competing on club teams in field hockey and swimming.
 
Personal:
Daughter of Mark and Jodi Bonikowsky … has an older twin brother (by seven minutes), Jacob, and a younger sister, Megan … grandfather, Neil Murray, is a Delta Sports Hall of Fame member and longtime high school basketball coach … brother Jacob is also a decorated prep runner … plans on majoring in kinesiology or engineering.
