Cougs Non-Conference Television Schedule Released

PULLMAN, Wash. – With the television schedule in the works, the Pac-12 Conference has announced the times and television matchups for the first half of Washington State men's basketball schedule. The Cougs will play seven non-conference games and a pair of early Pac-12 contests in the 2020 before tipping off a full slate of Pac-12 games in the new year.
All nine of the Cougars' early season contests are slated for the Pac-12 Network including both December conference games as the Pac-12 begins a 20-game slate for the first time.
The season tips off officially for WSU on Nov. 25 against Texas Southern at 6 p.m. on the Pac-12 Network with the second game of the year tapped for Nov. 28 against Eastern Washington at 8 p.m. The game against Texas Southern marks the first time the teams will meet in program history while the Eagles from just up the road come to town for the first time since 2012. WSU has won the last five against the Eagles in regular season competition including four-straight at Pullman.
Pac-12 play tips off with a pair of early December games as the Beavers come to town Dec. 2 with tip-off scheduled for 7 p.m., while the Cougs hit the road for the only time in 2020 with a trip to Boulder to take on Colorado Dec. 5 with game time still to be determined.
With the conference start under their belts, the Cougs return home for the remainder of non-conference play. In the final five non-conference games WSU kick off the home stand against Palouse rival, Idaho, Dec. 9 at 6 p.m. at Beasley Coliseum as the two teams meet for the 276th time­. Last season, the Cougs defeated the Vandals at Moscow, 78-65, for their first true road win of the year. Dec. 13 brings Portland State to town for the first time since 2015. The Cougs are a perfect 8-0 all-time against the Vikings including a 6-0 mark at home. The game is scheduled to tip off at 2 p.m. as part of a double-header with the women's basketball program.
Hitting the final stretch of non-conference play, the Cougs host Montana State Dec. 18. The two teams first met in 1925 and last met in 2018 in a game the Bobcats won 95-90 at the Tri-Cities. Prior to 2018, the Cougs had won nine-straight against the Bobcats. The final two games before the holiday break bring teams from Texas and Louisiana to the Palouse with Prairie View A&M (Dec. 21) and Northwestern State (Dec. 23), respectively, coming to Beasley with both games scheduled for 4 p.m. tip offs. The game against Prairie View A&M will be just the third meeting all-time and first since 2001 while the Cougs have never faced Northwestern State prior.
