Peterson Granted An NCAA Relief Waiver, Eligible For Competition In the 2020-21 Season
USC men's basketball junior guard Drew Peterson was granted a legislative relief waiver by the NCAA and he will be immediately eligible to compete during the 2020-21 season, it was announced by head coach Andy Enfield today (Nov. 20).
Peterson, who transferred to USC this offseason after two seasons at Rice, averaged 11.1 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game for the Owls during the 2019-20 season. The 6-8, 185 pound guard made 31 starts last season for Rice, leading the team in rebounds (209), assists (112) and steals (33). He was also third on the team in scoring and led the team in double-doubles (4). Peterson made 82.4 percent of his free throw attempts (75 of 91). He scored in double figures 16 times with a career-best 24 points vs. FIU on March 11.
USC will open up the 2020-21 season on Nov. 25 vs. California Baptist. Time to be released soon.
