Saturday Battle in Seattle for Utah Football

The University of Utah (0-1) has turned its focus to the Washington Huskies (2-0), with the two teams set to battle on Saturday, Nov. 28 in Seattle, Wash.  The game between the Utes and the Huskies is set for a 5:30 p.m. MT kick on Saturday on ABC. Utah is 249-254-12 all-time when playing on the road. Washington leads the all-time series against the Utes when playing in Seattle (8-2), but the Utes were able to walk away with a key victory in 2019 on the road. Utah trailed Washington for almost three quarters, but scored 21 unanswered points, including a 39-yard pick-six from former Ute and current Chicago Bear Jaylon Johnson to spark the comeback. The Utes won 33-28.

  • With a win, Utah will have won five straight games on the road, dating back to 2019 when the Utes won their final four games on the road. 
  • With a win, Utah will have beaten the Huskies in back-to-back years on the road. 
  • Utah's only wins in the all-time series against the Washington Huskies are in Seattle.
  • Four of the last five games against Washington have been decided by a touchdown or less.
  • After Utah's game against the Huskies, Kyle Whittingham will have coached in 197 games as the head coach of the Utes.


  • Utah had won 12 consecutive season-opening games before Saturday night's loss to USC, which entered the game with a 2-0 record. It marked the first time the Utes opened a season against a conference opponent since 1987 when Utah opened the season Sept. 5 against fellow WAC opponent New Mexico (W, 24-20).
  • The loss also snapped Utah's 11-game home winning streak. The Utes had not lost at Rice-Eccles Stadium since Sept. 15, 2018, a 21-7 setback to Washington.
  • Utah's defense held USC to under 100 yards rushing (93). In regular season play, the Utes have now held their last six Pac-12 opponents to under 100 yards rushing, dating back to their game against California on Oct. 26, 2019 (23 yards).
  • Utah's preseason ranking by AP was the second-highest preseason AP Poll rank the Utes have received since 2015 after being voted No. 14 in 2019.
  • The Utes have either been ranked or received votes in the last six AP Preseason polls, finishing the year ranked or receiving votes in four of those years. The Utes surpassed their preseason AP rankings in 2016 (Preseason rank: 24th, FR: 23rd) and 2015 (Preseason rank: 24th, FR: 17th).
