Cal-Northwest Postgame Notes

Joel Brown recorded 10 points and five assists in 18 minutes off the bench on Thursday.
  • Cal starters: Makale Foreman, Matt Bradley, Ryan Betley, Kuany Kuany, D.J. Thorpe
  • All 14 of Cal's active players saw the floor, including season debuts by Logan Alters, Jalen Celestine and Blake Welle.
  • Five Bears scored in double figures, including Ryan Betley (14), Matt Bradley (11), Andre Kelly (11), Joel Brown (10) and Makale Forman (10). Bradley and Foreman have scored 10-plus points in each of Cal's games this season.
  • Betley hit three shots from behind the arc, giving him six total three-pointers through two games played this season.
  • Betley led all players in points (14) and rebounds (9).
  • Foreman dished out a team-leading six assists. Brown and Bradley added five and three assists, respectively.
  • In 13 minutes of action, Lars Thiemann was 3-of-3 from the field along with three free throws for nine points. He added four rebounds, two steals and one assist.
  • Monty Bowser scored his four total points with a pair of dunks, the second of which came on an alley-oop from Foreman.
  • Thursday's game served as an exhibition for the Eagles.
  • Cal is one of five NCAA Division I opponents that Northwest is scheduled to play this season.
