Beavers Soar Past Eagles 114-42

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State recorded its highest scoring total since 1997, as the Beavers took down Northwest 114-42 Friday morning at Gill Coliseum.
 
The Beavers came within two points of setting the program scoring record, which currently sits at 116. Oregon State also recorded the largest margin of victory in Beaver history, taking the win by 72.
 
Ethan Thompson led the Beavers with 17 points on 7-for-9 shooting from the floor. The senior added six rebounds and two assists. Maurice Calloo went 5-for-5 from the floor on his way to 12 points, six rebounds and four assists.
 
Senior Zach Reichle hit five of his six shot attempts to end the day with 12 points and five assists. Tariq Silver put up 10 points in his Oregon State debut, while Jarod Lucas tallied 12.
 
Freshman Isaiah Johnson rounded out the Beavers in double-figures with 10 points. Warith Alatishe followed up his impressive debut on Wednesday with nine points and nine rebounds on Friday.
 
As a team, Oregon State shot 65.7 percent from the floor and 55.6 percent from beyond the arc. The Beavers held a 47-26 advantage on the boards.
 
Alatishe scored seven points in the first six minutes, helping spur Oregon State to a 19-7 advantage at the game's second media timeout. Overall, the Beavers were able to hold Northwest scoreless for a stretch of over nine minutes during the first half, as they used a 30-0 run to go head to the break ahead 57-15.
 
The second half featured more of the same, as Oregon State extended the advantage to 56 at the first media timeout of the period. The Beavers cruised from there to take the victory by 72.
 
The Beavers will hit the road for the first time this season on Wednesday for a matchup with Washington State.
