Jefferson, Eldridge Recognized By Pac-12

Nov 30, 2020

SAN FRANCISCO  Oregon State running back Jermar Jefferson has been named the Pac-12 Conference's Offensive Player of the Week and Nathan Eldridge has been selected as the Offensive Lineman of the Week, it was announced Monday. The awards are presented by Nextiva.
Jefferson set an Oregon State-Oregon Rivalry Game record with 226 rushing yards in the 41-38 win over the Ducks on Friday. He scored twice, including the first time on an 82-yard carry in the first quarter that marked the longest of his career. His 226 yards pushed him to 2,740 for his career, which now ranks fifth all-time at Oregon State. He's also fifth with 27 career rushing touchdowns and 14 100-yard efforts.
The Harbor City, Calif., native is now the back-to-back Offensive Player of the Week, the first Beaver with that distinction since Jacquizz Rodgers was honored on Nov. 1 and Nov. 8 in 2008. Jefferson is also the first Oregon State offensive player to be recognized twice in the same season since Sean Mannion in 2013.
Eldridge is the first Oregon State offensive lineman to ever receive a Pac-12 weekly award. The Pac-12 created the Offensive Lineman of the Week honor in 2019. Eldridge, an Anthem, Ariz., native was announced as this week's winner after he and the offensive line helped Jefferson to his 226 rushing yards.
Eldridge, who has now made 30 career starts, with five at Oregon State, received a 78.4 overall grade from Pro Football Focus. He received an 83.9 run blocking grade, which was the highest in the Pac-12 among all offensive linemen. It was fourth nationally.
The Beavers have now had five weekly honors this week. Champ Flemings was also named the Special Teams Player of the Week on Nov. 16. The five selections are the most since OSU also had five during the 2013 season.
Jefferson, Eldridge and the Beavers return to action Saturday when visiting Utah in Salt Lake City. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. PT (8:30 p.m. in Utah) and the game will air on ESPN.
