Sadler Named Pac-12 Freshman of the Week

Husky point guard Tameiya Sadler was named the Pac-12 Freshman of the Week the Conference announced on Monday. Sadler, from Vallejo, Calif., averaged 17.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 1.5 assists in leading the Huskies to a pair of victories over San Diego State and BYU.

In her collegiate debut, the 5-foot-8 guard hit the game-winning bucket with five seconds remaining to break a 59-59 tie and send the Huskies to a win over the Aztecs. She scored 12 points, grabbed three rebounds and dished out two assists to start her college career.

Sadler followed up her debut with a team-leading 23 points on 7-of-8 shooting from the floor, including 3-for-3 from 3-point range, in the Huskies' 77-48 win over a BYU team that was picked to finish second in the WCC. She also was 6-for-7 at the free-throw line, grabbed seven rebounds and picked up three steals. 

Sadler is the 14th Husky to earn Pac-12 Freshman of the Week honors and the first since February, 2017.
