Utah Football Set To Battle The Beavers Saturday At RES

The University of Utah (0-2) will return to Rice-Eccles Stadium this week, hosting the Oregon State Beavers (2-2) on Saturday, Dec. 5 for its final regular season home game. The game is set to kick off at 8:30 p.m. MT and air on ESPN. Search #GoUtes and #UBoyz on social media for conversation about Utah football this season.

Utah is 98-36 (.731) all-time in Rice-Eccles Stadium (1998-present). Utah is 70-25 during the Kyle Whittingham era in Salt Lake City, including three undefeated home seasons in 2008 (6-0), 2009 (6-0) and 2019 (7-0). Utah is 5-5 against Oregon State when playing in SLC with its last home win coming in 2015 (27-12). The Utes improved to 7-1 overall and 4-1 in Pac-12 play that season, scoring the first 14 points of the game to take an early lead. Running back Devontae Booker had 121 rushing yards (25 carries) with one touchdown while quarterback Travis Wilson claimed his 21st career win as the starter for the Ute.

•    With a win, Utah will have won five straight against Oregon State (2014, 2015, 2016, 2019).   
•    With a win, Utah will tie the all-time series against the Beavers (10-11-1 heading into the game).   
•    Teams are only converting 34-percent of their third down attempts against the Utes.  
•    Utah is only allowing 90.5 rushing yards per game this season, which ranks first in the Pac-12 and seventh in the FBS.
•    After Utah's game against the Beavers, Kyle Whittingham will have coached in 198 games as the head coach of the Utes.

•    Utah has won six of the last eight games against Oregon State.
•    The Utes are second in the Pac-12 and tied for 10th in the FBS in first downs allowed per game (18.5), and second in the Pac-12 in opponent third-down conversions (34.6%, 26th in the FBS).
•    Utah is among the least penalized teams in the nation at just 4.0 per game, tied for second in the Pac-12 and tied for third in the FBS.
•    The Oregon State game will mark the latest date on the calendar that Utah has played a home game since 1903. The Utes have played just one home game in the month of December since that year, when they hosted UCLA on Dec. 1, 1962.
•    The Utes rank in the top-30 in the FBS and fourth in the Pac-12 in time of possession per game (31:52). Utah out-possessed Washington on Saturday, 34:25 to 25:36 with the Huskies entering the game ranked second in the FBS in time of possession.
•    Utah's preseason ranking by AP was the second-highest preseason AP Poll rank the Utes have received since 2015 after being voted No. 14 in 2019.
•    The Utes have either been ranked or received votes in the last six AP Preseason polls, finishing the year ranked or receiving votes in four of those years. The Utes surpassed their preseason AP rankings in 2016 (Preseason rank: 24th, FR: 23rd) and 2015 (Preseason rank: 24th, FR: 17th).
