Arizona Makes Plays Down The Stretch To Top EWU

TUCSON, Ariz. - The Arizona men's basketball team improved to 2-0 on the season following a 70-67 win over Eastern Washington in the McKale Center on Saturday afternoon. 

James Akinjo led the Wildcats with 15 points while Azuolas Tubelis chipped in with 13 points and nine rebounds off the bench. All totaled, Arizona got 33 points from its bench while EWU tallied just 24.

With 8:42 remaining in the game, Arizona faced its biggest deficit of the game - 56-48 - but was able to rally down the stretch. Key baskets in the closing minutes came from graduate transfer Terrell Brown Jr. and freshman Dalen Terry, who fhinished with seven and five points respectively.
