Pro Bears Week 13

BERKELEY – Aaron Rodgers earned NFC Offensive Player of the Week honors for a franchise-record 18th time in his career after leading Green Bay to a 30-16 Week 13 victory over Philadelphia to once again lead performances by former Cal football players who finished their collegiate careers with the Golden Bears.

 Rodgers continued arguably his strongest season since he was a Super Bowl champion and NFL MVP during the 2011 campaign by connecting on 25-of-34 passes for 295 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions for a 128.9 passer rating. He also became the fastest player in NFL history to reach 400 career touchdown passes in 193 career games.

Rodgers has completed 286-of-415 passes (68.9%) for 3395 yards with 36 touchdowns and four interceptions for a 118.5 passer rating in his first 12 games of 2020. He leads the NFL in both touchdown passes and passer rating, while his completion percentage is the best in any of his 13 seasons as the Packers' starting quarterback and his passer rating is second only to a 122.5 mark in 2011 when the Packers won Super Bowl XLV and Rodgers was named both Super Bowl and the NFL's regular-season MVP.

Chad Hansen also had a memorable Week 13 by catching five passes for 101 yards in his first NFL action since the 2017 season. Hansen was activated by Houston off its practice squad the day before the Texans' 26-20 home loss to Indianapolis and ironically returned to the practice squad two days later although he may be activated to the 53-player roster again before Houston's Week 14 game at Chicago this Sunday.

Marvin Jones and Jared Goff also put up big numbers in leading Detroit and the Los Angeles Rams to victories at Chicago and Arizona, respectively. Jones equaled a season-best eight receptions for a season-high 116 yards and had one touchdown late in a 34-30 comeback win, while Goff completed 37-of-47 passes for (season-high 78.7%) for 351 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions while running for another in a 38-28 victory at Arizona.

Cal has five former players currently on active 53-player rosters of teams that are holding on to an NFL playoff spot with four weeks remaining in the regular season including Cameron Jordan, who has clinched a spot with a New Orleans Saints' squad that has a nine-game win streak that is currently the league's longest. Others on teams that currently have a playoff spot include Tyson Alualu (Pittsburgh), Devante Downs (New York Giants), Goff, Patrick Laird (Miami), Rodgers. Four others – Austin Clark (Miami outside linebackers coach), Mitchell Schwartz (Kansas City injured reserve), Mychal Kendricks (Seattle practice squad) and Davis Webb (Buffalo practice squad) – are also associated with team that are currently in playoff position.
