Maxwell Named Pac-12 Player of the Week

SAN FRANCISCO – University of Utah Women's Basketball sharp shooting sophomore Brynna Maxwell has been named the Pac-12 Women's Basketball Player of the Week for her performances in Utah's wins over No. 15 Oregon State and Montana State, it was announced today.

This is Maxwell's second-career Pac-12 player of the week honor, also earning Pac-12 Freshman of the Week last season. The Gig Harbor, Wash., native also earned College Sports Madness National Player of the Week today.

Maxwell dropped a career-high 34 points in Utah's upset on the road against Oregon State, shooting 10-of-15 from the floor, 4-of-7 from the three and 10-for-10 from the free throw line. It is the most points scored in a game in the Pac-12 this season and the most by a Utes since 2019, ranking seventh all-time in program history.

The sophomore also scored 11 points in Utah's win over Montana State, adding a career-high six assists and a career-best four steals against the Bobcats.

Over the span of two games, Maxwell averaged 22.5 points and 3.5 threes per game, shooting 52-percent from the floor. She has reached double-digits in 23 of her 34 career games and is averaging 13.5 points per game in her time as a Ute.
