Huskies Return to Vegas to Face Colorado in Non-Conference Action

Washington (1-5, 0-2 P12) vs Colorado (4-1)
UW head back to Las Vegas for a non-conference match up against a conference foe in Colorado at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 20 at T-Mobile Arena. The game, which is part of the Far West Classic, will be televised by the Pac-12 Networks with Roxy Bernstein and Don MacLean on the call. Additionally, fans can tune into KJR 950AM to hear Tony Castricone and Jason Hamilton on the official Husky Radio Broadcast. Washington owns the series mark over Colorado, 17-12. The last time the Huskies faced a conference opponent in a non-conference contest was during the 1973-74 season when they played Oregon and Oregon State in the Far West Classic held in Portland, Ore.
 
The Coach (64-44 at UW/4th Year)
Head Coach Mike Hopkins is in his fourth year at Washington, and fourth as a head coach after becoming the 19th head coach in UW history. During his 22 years as an assistant at Syracuse, Hopkins was a part of teams that reached the NCAA Tournament 16 times including the 2003 National Championship, four Final Fours, five Elite Eights and 10 Sweet 16s along with four NIT berths. Syracuse never dipped below a 55.0 percent record while Hopkins was on staff. Hopkins is a two-time Pac-12 Coach of the Year, winning the honor in each of his first two seasons with the Huskies as he led UW to back-to-back 20 win seasons with postseason appearances each year. Quick Hitters
• This is Washington's second trip to Las Vegas this season, having competed against Baylor and UC Riverside at T-Mobile Arena to open the season.
• Sophomore Nate Roberts recorded his second career double-double against Montana, with 13 points and 10 rebounds  ... he is averaging 10.3 points and 9.8 rebounds over the last four outings
• Off the bench or in the starting lineup, junior Nate Pryor has been efficient over the last three games, scoring  13 points against Seattle U while pulling down five boards and adding three assists and then tying the 13 points against Montana ... he also dished out three assists and had two steals against Oregon
• Prior to the Montana game, Quade Green was averaging 20.8 points, shooting 54.2% from the field, 50.0% from the 3-point line and 90% from the charity stripe in the previous four games (Ore, Seattle, Utah, UCR)
• The Huskies shot a perfect 10-of-10 from the FT line against Oregon, making it just the fourth time in UW history, the Dawgs were 100 percent from the line with 10 or more attempts
• Sophomore RaeQuan Battle's career-high 19 points against Oregon came in just 21 minutes ... he also knocked down a career-high tying four from 3-point range
• Redshirt sophomore Nate Roberts is currently fifth in the Pac-12 in rebounding pulling down 7.4 per game
• Over the last two games, Washington has limited its opponents to just four made per game from long distance ... Seattle U went 4-of-23 (17.4) while Oregon went 4-of-19 (21.1)
• The Huskies have had at least five steals and five blocks in each game ... UW is fourth in the league in blocks averaging 5.4 per game
• Washington's 32-point win over Seattle tied for the third-largest margin of victory under Coach Hopkins
• Green also recorded 18 points in 18 minutes against Seattle on nearly perfect shooting going 6-of-7 from the field, 4-of-4 from three and 2-of-2 from FT
• Wright currently has 115 career blocks which is sixth all-time at UW, passing Aziz N'Diyae (113) ... he is now 22 behind fifth place (137, Malik Dime) and 71 behind the UW record of 186 (Matisse Thybulle and Christian Welp)
• Washington had five players pull down at least five rebounds against Seattle U ... 10 players overall registered at least one rebound
• Nate Pryor made his first career start as a Husky against Seattle and scored 13 points with five rebounds, four assists, two steals and one block
• Washington had two players reach 10+ rebounds against Utah with Nate Roberts pulling down a career-high 13 rebounds and Hameir Wright registering a career-best 10 boards
• Nate Roberts also recorded his first career double-double with 13 rebounds and 12 points - its the first double-double for a UW player this season
• This is the first season since 2001-02 that UW opened the year with three-straight games away from Alaska Airlines Arena
• Under Coach Hop, UW has faced seven top 20 non-conference opponents and has travelled to New York, Alaska, Toronto, Kansas, Las Vegas, Hawaii, Atlantic City, Auburn, Vancouver (B.C) and to No. 1 Gonzaga all in the non-conference.
