Pac-12 Football Players of the Week - Week Seven

SAN FRANCISCO - The Pac-12 today announced its 2020 football season's final weekly honors, presented by Nextiva. See below for Week Seven's recognitions across the Conference:

OFFENSIVE: Simi Fehoko, Jr., Stanford, WR

  • Caught a Stanford-record 16 passes on 21 targets for a career-best 230 yards (14.4 yards per catch) and a career-high three touchdowns as Stanford beat UCLA 48-27 in double overtime to close the season on a four-game win streak and finish 4-2. The previous record was 14 receptions (four times; most recently Jim Price at Notre Dame on October 7, 1989).
  • His 16 catches were tied for the most in the country this season.
  • His 230 yards were the third-most in a single game in Stanford history, and the most since Troy Walters set the record with 278 against UCLA on September 25, 1999. His receiving yards were 11th-most in the country this year for a single game, while his three touchdowns are tied for seventh-most in a game this year.
  • The game was his first career 200-yard game and the second consecutive game with 100+ yards receiving.
  • On the year he is averaging 18.68 yards per catch in his career (56-1,046) to rank third in Stanford history.
  • Registered an 87.9 offensive grade according to PFF (86.1 receiving grade).

DEFENSIVE: Jamal Hill, So., Oregon, S

  • Recorded his first two career interceptions in Oregon’s 31-24 win over No. 13 USC in the 2020 Pac-12 Football Championship Game, presented by 76®.
  • Just the third player in Pac-12 championship game history with two interceptions.
  • Had a first-quarter INT that set up an Oregon TD and made it 14-0.
  • His second INT came with under four minutes to play in the fourth quarter with USC in Oregon territory.
  • One of two Pac-12 players with two INTs in a game this season.
  • Also added a career-high five tackles.
  • Was the highest-graded corner in the Pac-12 by PFF for this past week with an overall grade of 81.8.

SPECIAL TEAMS: Will Shaffer, Fr., Arizona State, LB

  • Shaffer made a huge special teams play with the game tied at seven in the first quarter, blocking a punt and netting a 22-yard return to set the offense up in great field position.
  • The Sun Devils went on to score a touchdown on the ensuing drive, earning a lead they would never relinquish.
  • Shaffer's blocked punt was the first by a Sun Devil since Timarcus Davis did so against No. 15 Cal on Sept. 27, 2019.
  • He also added an assisted tackle and half a tackle for loss on defense, enjoying a breakout performance.

OFFENSIVE LINE: Nick Ford, Jr., Utah, OL

  • Started at center and helped lead Utah's offense to 528 total yards, allowing zero sacks.
  • Keyed an offensive line that paved the way for 223 rushing yards, 6.0 yards per carry and four rushing touchdowns.
  • Ford has started at both LT and C this season, with this being his fourth game in a row at center, and is a steadying influence on a line that its third different starting lineup in five games and still performed at an incredibly high level in the Utes 45-28 victory.

DEFENSIVE LINE: Kayvon Thibodeaux, So., Oregon, DE

  • Named the 2020 Pac-12 Football Championship Game MVP after registering five tackles, two stops for loss, a sack and a pass breakup in Oregon’s win at No. 13 USC.
  • Had a TFL on fourth down in the first quarter and a third-down sack late in the third quarter.
  • Recorded 12 QB pressures which is the most by a Pac-12 player this season, according to Pro Football Focus (PFF).
  • Had his third consecutive game with a sack.
  • Has 3.5 sacks, 4.5 tackles for loss and 10 tackles in two career Pac-12 championship game appearances.

FRESHMAN: Ty Jordan, Fr., RB, Utah

  • Recorded his third-straight 100-yard rushing game in Utah’s comeback victory against Washington State.
  • He finished with 22 carries for 154 yards (7.0 YPC) and three rushing touchdowns.
  • He also had two catches for 33 yards (187 all-purpose yards).
  • He is the first Ute freshman to rush for three-straight 100-yard games since 1995.
  • First Ute to have three rushing TDs in a game since 2018.
  • Ranks second among freshman in the FBS in all-purpose yards per game (144.6).
  • Ranks 11th in the FBS and second in the Pac-12 (leads all freshmen) in rushing yards per carry (7.1).
  • Ranks ninth in the FBS and third in the Pac-12 (leads all freshmen) in rushing yards per game (119.4).
  • In total, 106 of his 154 rushing yards came in the second half.
  • In his first scoring drive, had a 26-yard rush on a first-and-10 to the WSU 35, scoring on a five-yard rush seven plays later.
  • Caught a career-long 27-yard catch on a 3rd-and-9 to the WSU 42, scoring on a 33-yard rush just four plays later to tie the game 28-28.
  • Scored his third touchdown of the game on a 2nd-and-10 on the WSU 13, rushing in for 13 yards.
