60 former Pac-12 student-athletes on 2020-21 NBA opening day rosters

Dec 23, 2020

SAN FRANCISCO - The Pac-12 had 60 former men's basketball student-athletes on NBA opening day rosters entering the 2020-21 season, which tipped on Tuesday. The Conference is represented by each of its 12 members and on 26-of-30 NBA franchises.

The 60 former standouts are a reflection of the NBA's 17-player roster limit, which includes up to two 2-way contracts that allow flexibility between a franchise's parent and G-League affiliate. Four former Pac-12 standouts signed two-way deals to give the league a total of 56 former student-athletes on full contract.

In comparing conference totals, the Pac-12 is third only to the ACC, which entered the NBA season with a total of 84 on rosters and 78 excluding two-way deals, and the SEC (78/68).

Pac-12 programs amassed 10 selections in the 2020 NBA Draft, reaching double-digit picks for the second time in the past four years and just the fourth time in league history. Included among the Pac-12's 10 selections were six First Round picks, which tied for the most of any league (SEC - 6) and were tied for the second-most of the modern Draft era (since 1989) for the Conference (7 - 2008; 6 - 2009, 2014, 2017, 2020).

The league's 10 overall selections marked just the fourth time the Conference reached double-figure picks in a single Draft (14 - 2017; 12 - 2008; 11 - 2001).

Over the course of the last four years (2017-20), the Pac-12 has amassed 37 Draft selections, the second-most of any league in the country trailing only the 15-team ACC (45).
