Aaron Rodgers continued to make his case for NFL MVP when he added four more touchdowns to his total in a 40-14 victory over the Titans

BERKELEY – Five former Cal players – Tyson Alualu (Pittsburgh), Cameron Jordan (New Orleans), Aaron Rodgers (Green Bay), Mitchell Schwartz (Kansas City injured reserve) and Davis Webb (Buffalo) – affiliated with NFL teams have clinched both playoff spots and Division titles at the end of the league's Week 16 regular-season games that concluded Monday night with Buffalo's 38-9 victory at New England.

Fourteen other former Cal players are affiliated with NFL teams still in contention for the playoffs with a single week remaining in the 2020 regular season next Sunday, Jan. 3. Eight of the 14 affiliates are on active 53-player rosters in Devante Downs (New York Giants), Jared Goff (Los Angeles Rams), Mychal Kendricks (Washington), Jordan Kunaszyk (Washington), L.P. Ladouceur (Dallas), Patrick Laird (Miami), Patrick Mekari (Baltimore) and Nick Sundberg (Washington). Trevor Davis (Washington) and Evan Weaver (Arizona) are on practice squads, while four more – Austin Clark (Miami outside linebackers coach), Ron Rivera (Washington head coach), Vincent Rivera (Washington defensive quality control) and Richard Rodgers Sr. (Washington assistant defensive backs coach) – are on coaching staffs.
 
A few notable Week 16 individual performances by former Cal players and notes include …

  • Tyson Alualu had three tackles and one tackle for loss in Pittsburgh's 28-24 home win over Indianapolis that clinched an AFC North title
  • Stephen Anderson made his second start of the season and contributed four receptions for 48 yards receiving in the Los Angeles Chargers' 19-16 victory over Denver with the numbers tied for his second-highest career receptions and his third-highest career yards receiving
  • DeSean Jackson returned to the field for first time since Week 7 and had an 81-yard touchdown reception that was his fifth career reception of 80-plus yards to equal an all-time NFL record in Philadelphia's 37-17 loss at Dallas
  • Aaron Rodgers threw four touchdown passes in Green Bay's 40-14 home win over Tennessee to run his league-leading total to 44, which is one shy of the career-high 45 he threw in 2011
  • Mychal Kendricks was signed to the Washington 53-player roster and played in a 20-13 against Carolina
  • Davis Webb was elevated to Buffalo's 53-player roster but was inactive for the team's 38-9 Monday Night Football win at New England
