Alamo Bowl Game Updates: Colorado vs. Texas

- The Colorado Buffaloes (4-1, 3-1 Pac-12) will face off against No. 20 Texas (6-3, 5-3 Big 12) in the Valero Alamo Bowl.
- This is the Buff's first bowl appearance since 2016, where they dropped a 38-8 decision in this same bowl to Oklahoma State.
- Running back Jarek Broussard was recently awarded Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Year and finished the season second in the nation in rushing yards per game averaging 162.2. Colorado will also be without the services of their leading tackler and first team All Pac-12 performer, Nate Landman.
- First-year head coach Karl Dorrell was also honored as Pac-12's Coach of the Year
- The Buffs have not faced the Longhorns since 2009 and Texas leads the all-time series 11-7.
Uniforms: Colorado will be wearing black jerseys with gold pants and helmets. Texas will be going all white with white helmets, jerseys, and pants.

Start of game:
1Q: Colorado Punt: Texas forced the Buffs to go three and out on their first drive. Punt from Josh Watts went 42 yards. Texas will begin their drive from their own 26 yard line.
1Q: Texas touchdown: It took quarterback Sam Ehlinger and the Longhorns just three plays to move the ball down to the CU eight yard line. From there, Bijan Robinson rushed to the left side of the field and dove into the end zone for an eight yard touchdown run. PAT from Cameron Dicker was good. Texas leads 7-0 with 12:51 remaining in the 1st quarter.
1Q: Colorado Punt: The Buffs were only able to gain one yard of offense on this drive and went three and out again. Punt from Watts went 35 yards. Texas will begin their drive from their own 42 yard line.
1Q: Texas Turnover on Downs: The Longhorns moved the ball to the CU 39 yard line. They elected to go for it on 4th and 1 and Roschon Johnson was stopped by Isaiah Lewis on a run and Texas turned the ball over on downs. Colorado takes over from their own 39 yard line.
1Q: Colorado Turnover: On the third play of the drive QB Sam Noyer connected with Maurice Bell on a 26 yard completion up the middle to the Texas 35 yard line. Two plays later Noyer's pass was intercepted by DeMarvion Overshown at the Texas 11 yard line. 1st and 10 Texas.
1Q: Texas Touchdown: On the fourth play of the drive, Robinson exploded up the middle for a 50 yard gain to the CU 27 yard line. Two plays later, Ehlinger connected with Robinson on a screen pass for a 14 yard touchdown. PAT from Dicker was good. Texas leads 14-0 with 5:28 remaining in the 1st quarter.
1Q: Colorado Punt: Broussard rushed for 29 yards to help the Buffs move the ball into Texas territory. From there, the Texas defense brought the Colorado drive to a halt and forced a punt. Punt from Watts went 30 yards and was downed at the Texas 16 yard line. 1st and 10 Longhorns.
1Q: Texas Punt: The Colorado defense was finally able to slow down this Texas offense. The Buffs forced three incompletions and a punt. Punt from Dicker went 53 yards. 1st and 10 CU from their own 34 yard line.
1Q: Colorado Turnover: After two incompletions, Noyer had a screen pass intercepted by Alfred Collins and Texas took over from the CU 32 yard line. 1st and 10 Texas.
1Q: Texas Missed Field Goal: Jamar Montgomery stepped up for the Buffaloes and tackled Roschon behind the line of scrimmage for a 7 yard loss on first down. The Buffs then forced fourth down and the Longhorns attempted a field goal. Field goal attempt from Dicker missed wide left. Colorado will take over from their own 28 yard line.

Start of 2nd Quarter:
2Q: Colorado Punt: Following a first down run from Broussard, Colorado could not move the chains again and were forced to punt. Punt from Watts went through the end zone for a touchback. 1st and 10 Texas from their own 20 yard line.
2Q: Texas Punt: Colorado's stingy defense stepped up once again and forced a three and out. This was thanks to an excellent pass breakup by Christian Gonzalez on third down. Punt from Dicker went 42 yards and after a Texas penalty, Colorado will begin their drive from the 50 yard line.
2Q: Colorado Touchdown: Colorado went with a different quarterback under center with true freshman Brendon Lewis. Thanks to strong running from Lewis and Broussard, the Buffs moved the ball to the Texas 28 yard line. Then on third down, Lewis stepped back and completed his first collegiate pass on a connection with Dimitri Stanley for a 26 yard gain to the UT 2 yard line. Then on 4th and goal, Broussard ran the ball to the left side, broke a few tackles, and reached into the endzone for a touchdown. PAT from Price was good. Texas leads Colorado 14-7 with 6:58 remaining in the 2nd quarter.
2Q: Texas Punt: Colorado's defense continued to frustrate the Texas offense and forced another quick three and out. Punt from Dicker went 46 yards and was fair caught by Stanley at the CU 22 yard line. 1st and 10 CU.
2Q: Colorado Punt: The Buffs could not do much with the ball when they got it and after Lewis lost one yard on a QB rush on third down, they were forced to punt. Punt from Watts went 57 yards and after a Texas penalty, the Longhorns will begin their drive from their own 7 yard line.
2Q: Texas Field Goal: It took Texas just two plays to get the CU 22 yard line. Then the Buffs came up with back-to-back sacks from Carson Wells and Mustafa Johnson for a combined loss of 13 yards and brought up fourth down. Dicker's 53 yard field goal attempt was good. Texas leads 17-7 with 2:07 remaining in the 2nd quarter.
2Q: Colorado Field Goal: Noyer returned to play quarterback on this drive. The Buffs moved the ball down the field quickly, and thanks to a 15 yard Noyer rush and a 26 yard completion to Stanley, the Buffs advanced to the Texas 15 yard line. Colorado was unable to find the endzone and Price connected on a 40 yard field goal attempt. Texas leads 17-10 with 0:43 remaining in the 2nd quarter.
2Q: End of Quarter: Ehlinger took a knee to run the clock out and bring the game to halftime. End of 2nd quarter. Texas leads 17-10.
Start of 3rd Quarter:
3Q: Texas Touchdown: Casey Thompson entered the game for the Longhorns at quarterback. On the first play of the half, Robinson burst down the sideline after breaking some tackles for a 66 yard run to the CU 13 yard line. On the next play, Thompson connected with Joshua Moore on a slant route for a 13 yard touchdown. Pat from Dicker was good. Texas leads 24-10 with 14:23 remaining in the 3rd quarter.
3Q: Colorado Missed Field Goal: Noyer threw the ball and ran the ball well on this drive. This helped bring the Buffs to the UT 28 yard line and Noyer kept the ball on a QB sneak to convert on 4th and 1. Then Colorado failed to convert on a third down play and attempted a field goal. Price missed a 37 yard field goal wide right and Texas will take over at their own 20 yard line.
3Q: Texas Touchdown: Thompson was able to get into a rhythm and make some connections for some big gains. He capped off a 5 play, 80 yard drive with a 25 yard dart to Moore for a touchdown. PAT from Dicker was good. Texas leads 31-10 with 8:00 remaining in the 3rd quarter.
3Q: Colorado Punt: The Buffs lost 2 yards on this drive and quickly gave the ball back to the Longhorns. Punt from Watts went 48 yards. Texas will begin their drive from their own 40 yard line.
3Q: Texas Field Goal: Thompson and Robinson had two solid runs to help Texas move the ball deep into Colorado territory. Texas could not convert on 3rd down thanks to a Carson Wells sack, his second of the night. Dicker's 35 yard field goal attempt was good. Texas leads 34-10 with 3:33 remaining in the 3rd quarter.
3Q: Colorado Touchdown: Lewis returned in at quarterback for Colorado. Lewis performed well on this drive and had a 44 yard rush up the middle to bring the Buffs down to the Texas 3 yard line. On the next play, Broussard rushed down the right side and went into the endzone for a 3 yard touchdown. Two point conversion attempt failed. Texas leads Colorado 34-16 with 1:46 remaining in the 3rd quarter.

Start of 4th Quarter:
4Q: Texas Touchdown: On the second play of the quarter, Robinson caught a screen pass and rushed for 23 yards for a touchdown. PAT from Dicker was good. Texas leads 41-16 with 14:42 remaining in the 4th quarter.
4Q: Colorado Touchdown: The Buffaloes showed a balanced attack on this drive, performing well on the ground and in the air. Lewis continued to play well and capped off a 7 play, 75 yard drive with a 2 yard touchdown rush. PAT from Price was good. Texas leads 41-23 with 11:48 remaining in the 4th quarter.
4Q: Texas Touchdown: Texas began their drive from their own 25 yard line. It took them just two plays to find the endzone after Thompson found Kelvontay Dixon down field for a 73 yard touchdown completion. PAT from Dicker was good. Texas leads 48-23 with 11:01 remaining in the 4th quarter.
4Q: Colorado Punt: The Buffs were unable to get anything going on offense and went three and out. Punt from Watts went 42 yards. Texas will begin their drive from their own 34 yard line.
4Q: Texas Punt: Hudson Card checked in at quarterback for the Longhorns. Texas was able to get one first down before the Buffs stopped them from converting on third down. Dicker's punt went 36 yards and was downed at the CU 7 yard line. 1st and 10 Colorado.
4Q: Texas Touchdown: After a 9 yard rush from Lewis, Jett Bush of Texas forced a fumble on Broussard and the Longhorns recovered. On the ensuing play, Johnson took it 21 yards to the house for a Texas touchdown. PAT from Dicker was good. Texas leads 55-23 with 7:40 remaining in the 4th quarter.
4Q: Colorado Punt: The Buffs used an 8 yard Lewis rush to get a first down. Then the Texas defense stifled the Colorado offense and forced another punt. Punt from Watts went 32 yards to the Texas 39 yard line. 1st and 10 Longhorns.
