Utah Men's Golf Announces 2021 Schedule

SALT LAKE CITY – The University of Utah Men's Golf program is ready for the New Year as head coach Garrett Clegg announced the 2021 schedule today, which will feature seven regular season tournaments.

"We are excited to get back on the course," Clegg said. "With the COVID break, we added a couple of extra events to our spring schedule. Everyone is excited to start the season in Tucson, and it will be great to be back and competing as a program."

Utah will visit Arizona, Oregon, Washington and California this season, along with two tournaments in the state of Utah in February and April.

The Utes will get the season started Jan. 25-27 when they travel to Tucson, Ariz. for the Arizona Intercollegiate at the Sewailo Golf Club. Utah will then continue its season in Utah, heading to St. George for the Pat Hicks Thunderbird Invitational, Feb. 6-8 at the Sunbrook Golf Club.

Utah will look to continue its success at the Bandon Dunes Championship March 7-9 in Bandon, Ore. before competing in the NIT Invitational March 20-21 for its second trip to Tucson in 2021. The Utes will also compete in the Redhawk Invitational in Tacoma, Wash. March 29-30 at Chambers Bay.

The Utes will take one final regular season trip to Arizona April 16-17 for the Thunderbird Collegiate in Phoenix at the Papago Golf Course before returning to Utah to take on the BYU Cougar Classic down the road in Provo, Utah, April 23-24.

Postseason play begins April 26-28 with the Pac-12 Championships, taking place in Santa Rosa, Calif. at the Mayacam Golf Club. The NCAA Regionals will run May 16-19 with the location and course to be determined followed by the NCAA Championships May 28-June 2 at the Grayhawk Golf Course in Scottsdale, Ariz.  

Utah returns eight athletes who saw action in the shortened 2019-20 season along with two talented newcomers that are eager to hit the course this spring. The Utes will also see the return of senior Mitchell Schow, who led Utah with a career-best 71.6 strokes per round average last season while finishing in the top-50 in all seven events in 2019-20.
