DeCecco Leads the Utes on Second Day of UCLA Diving Invite
LOS ANGELES - The Utah diving team continued competition on the second day of the UCLA Diving Invite on Saturday, having a successful showing with Lizzy DeCecco placing second on the 3m to lead the way.
"We competed a lot better today even if our results weren't what we would have liked," said head diving coach Richard Marschner on today's performance. "We had more purpose and energy in what we were doing so it was nice to see that change from the team."
DeCecco led the Utes on the 3m placing second with a score of 515.55. Lexi Mills followed right behind in third place with a score of 513.15 and Emma Ruchala placed fourth, scoring 511.40. Regan Caufield placed seventh with a score of 454.70 in the final 3m standings.
The men moved to the platform on Saturday as Chase Hindmarsh took the third spot on the podium, leading the Utes with a score of 530.30. Jenner Pennock was next in fourth place, scoring 500.65, and Tony Chen placed fifth with a score of 447.15.
The final day of the UCLA Diving Invite will continue tomorrow with women on the platform and men on the 1m. Competition for the final day between Utah, UCLA and UNLV will begin at approximately 10:50 a.m. PT.
