LOS ANGELES – The UCLA baseball team has been ranked No. 2 in the country ahead of the 2021 campaign, it was revealed on Monday by D1Baseball.
The No. 2 ranking by D1Baseball was UCLA's highest so far this preseason. The Bruins were tabbed No. 3 in Collegiate Baseball's preseason poll and were No. 4 in the Perfect Game Preseason Top-25.
Trailing only Florida nationally, UCLA is the lone team in the West Region to make D1Baseball's Top-10. Arizona (No. 22) was the only other Pac-12 institution to crack D1Baseball's rankings, while UC Santa Barbara (No. 11) was the only other west coast school in the top-25.
The Bruins are coming off a promising 2020 campaign that was cut short due to COVID-19, as the team won 11 straight games to start the year and finished with a 13-2 mark. UCLA returns its entire weekend rotation and all but one starting position player from last year's squad.
