UW (1-11, 0-7 P12) vs. Colorado (11-3, 5-2 P12)
After four-straight games away from Alaska Airlines Arena, Washington finally returns home to face the mountain schools, first taking on Colorado on Wednesday at 6 p.m. in Seattle. The game will be televised by ESPN2 with Roxy Bernstein and Adrian Branch on the call. Additionally, fans can tune into KJR 950AM to hear Tony Castricone and Jason Hamilton on the official Husky Radio Broadcast. The two teams have already faced once this season in a non-conference contest with CU taking the win but UW owns the overall series mark 17-13. Washington is 11-2 at home when facing the Buffs and have won four-straight in Seattle dating back to 2015.
The Coach (64-50 at UW/4th Year)
Head Coach Mike Hopkins is in his fourth year at Washington, and fourth as a head coach after becoming the 19th head coach in UW history. During his 22 years as an assistant at Syracuse, Hopkins was a part of teams that reached the NCAA Tournament 16 times including the 2003 National Championship, four Final Fours, five Elite Eights and 10 Sweet 16s along with four NIT berths. Syracuse never dipped below a 55.0 percent record while Hopkins was on staff. Hopkins is a two-time Pac-12 Coach of the Year, winning the honor in each of his first two seasons with the Huskies as he led UW to back-to-back 20 win seasons with postseason appearances each year. Quick Hitters
• Junior transfer Erik Stevenson has upped his scoring output over the last two games, averaging 18 points per game, shooting 47.2 percent from the field and 56.5 percent from 3. Prior to the California game, Stevenson had only made four from long distance, he has since made 13 over the last three games
• Senior Hameir Wright had a career-high on the offensive end against UCLA, as he scored career-best 15 points on 6-of-9 shooting from the field and 3-of -6 from 3-point range ... he also added a team-best seven rebounds and added three assists and one block
• Washington has been shooting the ball much better over two of the last three games knocking down 52.0 percent against California and 51.4 percent UCLA, it's the only two game the Dawgs have shot over 50
• The Huskies have done a better job sharing the ball over their last two games with back to back games of 13 assists to 22 and 30 made FGs, respectively
• Bey has averaged 14.7 points over the last three games combined, shooting 55.6 percent and 46.2 percent from 3-point range
• Redshirt sophomore Nate Roberts is currently sixth in the Pac-12 in rebounding pulling down 7.0 per game
• Washington's offense picked up over the four-road game swing, averaging 74.3 points with four players averaging double figures (Green 15.3; Stevenson, 13.5; Bey, 12.5; Tsohonis, 11.7) ... the Huskies are also shooting 43.6 percent from the field, 38.3 percent from the 3-point line and 77.5 from the charity stripe.
• UW has three players now that have recorded 20-point efforts in Green, Stevenson and Tsohonis.
• Washington has had at least three players in double figures in each of the last four games ... in the previous eight games, UW only had three games with three double-figure scorers
• UW is currently sixth in the Pac-12 in blocks averaging 4.1 per game and fifth in steals (6.75spg).
• Quade Green has recorded four 20-point scoring efforts this season with his most recent coming against UCLA as he posted 25 points ... the last player with four 20-point games in the first 10 outings of the season was Jaylen Nowell in 2017-18
• With his five assists against USC, Quade Green now has 119 career assists at UW in just 27 games ... averaging 4.4 a game while being a Husky
• Washington had a season-low nine turnovers against Colorado, marking their fewest in a game since eight against Oregon State on Jan. 16, 2020 at home.
• Wright currently has 120 career blocks which is sixth all-time at UW, passing Aziz N'Diyae (113) ... he is now 18 behind fifth place (137, Malik Dime) and 67 behind the UW record of 186 (Matisse Thybulle and Christian Welp)
