Pac-12 Announces Spring Volleyball Shell Schedule and Television Selections
SAN FRANCISCO – The Pac-12 Conference announced its season schedule for women's volleyball on Tuesday (Jan. 19), which will compete in Conference-only matches for the upcoming 2020 campaign to be held during the winter and spring of 2021.
The Women of Troy were scheduled to open the season against defending league champion Stanford, but the Cardinal announced that it will not compete through the first two weekends of the season in accordance with directives from the Santa Clara County Public Health Department. The Santa Clara County restrictions state that collegiate sports and athletics activities that involve contact, that do not allow for social distancing, or that take place indoors, remain prohibited. Additionally, individuals are required to quarantine for 10 days upon entering or returning from travel of over 150 miles from Santa Clara County's borders.
As such, USC will open the season on the road against Oregon State with matches on Friday (Jan. 29) at 6 p.m. PT and Sunday (Jan. 31) at noon at Gill Coliseum in Corvallis, Ore. The Trojans will play their first home matches at Galen Center on Feb. 5 and Feb. 7 as host to Oregon. Both matches will be shown live on Pac-12 Networks. USC's two matches at Utah (Feb. 12, Feb. 14) were also chosen for broadcast. Matches not chosen for broadcast are expected to be streamed by home institutions.
The full Pac-12 schedule reflects a 22 conference-match slate--an increase from the league's standard of 20--set to begin on Friday, Jan. 22, and will feature two-game series to take place at the same site outside of home-and-home rivalry matchups.
The complete week-by-week schedule shell as well as start times and matches selected for broadcast by Pac-12 Networks through Feb. 28 were announced with remaining broadcasts through the end of the regular season set to be announced in the coming weeks. Dates and start times for non-televised contests will be announced by schools subject to additional sport schedules and facility availability. All match dates, times, and broadcasts are subject to change.
Pac-12 women's volleyball had six teams reach the NCAA tournament during the most recent 2019 campaign, extending a streak of at least six teams competing in the postseason to 20 consecutive seasons. Stanford claimed its third-straight Pac-12 conference crown and won its third NCAA title in four seasons to give the Pac-12 a national-best 17 all-time NCAA titles including 15 of the last 29.

The Women of Troy went 11-9 in the Pac-12 and landed in sixth place. USC received an at-large berth into the NCAA tournament and made its 37th all-time appearance in the tourney (29th consecutive) where the Trojans advanced to the second round before falling to top-seeded and No. 1-ranked Baylor.
