Men’s Golf Starts Season At Arizona Intercollegiate

THIS WEEK
The Utah men's golf team will tee off their season this Monday, competing in the Arizona Intercollegiate. The tournament will span three days, January 25-27, and will take place at the Sewailo Golf Club in Tucson. Ariz.
 
THE FIELD
Utah will compete among a field of 18 teams which includes Arizona, BYU, Denver, Iowa State, LMU, New Mexico, New Mexico State, San Francisco, Oregon, Oregon State, UNLV, Texas Tech, ULM, UTEP, Wake Forest, Washington, and Washington State

UTAH'S LINE-UP
The Utes five-man lineup will consist of senior Mitchell Schow, juniors Tristan Mandur and Blake Tomlinson, redshirt sophomore Colton Tanner and sophomore Axel Einarsson.

"This season will be a lot different than any prior because we have not been able to hold a team practice yet this semester, which is a challenge. But I love this team and all the work they continue to put into their games. I will say that I know we will compete for every shot, and we will fight tooth and nail to have a great showing."

TOURNAMENT DETAILS
The Arizona Intercollegiate is a three-day tournament consisting of 54 holes with 18 being played each day. The tournament will begin Monday Jan 25th and run through Wednesday Jan 27th.

LAST TIME OUT
The team's last tournament took place over ten months ago at the 2020 Bandon Dunes Championship. The Ute's finished the three-day event placing fifth out of a field of 16 teams. Mandur and Tomlinson both placed in the top-25 to help propel the team to a solid finish in their final outing of the 2019-2020 season due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
