Utah Swim & Dive Hosts BYU For Senior Weekend

SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah swimming and diving team is set to host BYU this Friday and Saturday, Jan. 29-30 to continue dual meet action. The Utes will celebrate senior night on Friday for seniors Emma Broome, Sara McClendon and Kyle Mitchell, while seniors Robby King and Felix Chiun will have senior day on Saturday.

The Utah women swim and dive team will compete Friday night at 5 p.m. MT against the Cougars, while the dual for the men will begin on Saturday at 11 a.m. MT at the Ute Natatorium.

There are no spectators allowed due to the Pac-12 Conference's extended spectator policy. All results can be found following the meet on UtahUtes.com.

POOL RECORDS PILING UP
After the Utah women's swim team broke three pool records in the dual meet at Washington State, the Utes turned around and broke three Don Reddish Pool records in the dual against Colorado Mesa last weekend. At Washington State, the Utes broke the 200 medley relay record (Broome, Sadie Edwards, Emma Lawless, Maddie Woznick), the 100 back by Broome, and the 400 free relay (Woznick, Kayla Miller, Lawless, Audrey Reimer).
 
Against Colorado Mesa, Woznick broke the 50 free pool record set by Olympian Simone Manuel, while Cooper deRyk broke the 100 fly and Broome broke the 50 back record in the first leg of the 200 medley relay.
 
LAST TIME OUT
The Utah swim and dive team swept Colorado Mesa on Saturday at the Ute Natatorium, with both the men's and women's teams coming out on top in the dual meet. Utah's women swim & dive team beat Colorado Mesa University with a score of 176-67, while the men followed with a 191-52 win to finish the day. The Utah women won 11 of 13 events against Colorado Mesa, including Lizzy DeCecco sweeping the diving events. On the men's side, the Utes won every swim event and Tony Chen swept the 1m and 3m. UP NEXT
The Utah divers will head to the Air Force Diving Invitational next Thursday through Saturday, Feb. 4-6. The three-day event will be held in Colorado Springs, Colo. at Cadet Natatorium.
