Swim and Dive Travels to Cal for Two-Day Dual Meet
BERKELEY, Calif. – The UCLA swim and dive team is back in the pool this weekend, heading north for a two-day dual meet at Cal starting on Saturday afternoon.
The Bruins (1-0) and Golden Bears (0-0) start the dual meet at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday at Spieker Aquatics Complex, with action resuming at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday. All diving events will take place on Saturday.
The matchup is part of a busy weekend for Cal, which also hosts USC for two days starting on Friday and Saturday. UCLA and USC will not compete against each other.
This weekend represents the first scored dual meets of the year for Cal, who faced Stanford twice during the fall in a non-scoring format.
The availability of live stats is not yet confirmed. The meet will not be streamed.
The Bruins are coming off a strong performance in a non-scoring tri-meet at USC with Arizona last weekend, having recorded the top time in eight of 17 events at Uytengsu Aquatics Center. Individual standouts for the Bruins included freshman Sam Baron (swept the butterfly events) and junior Claire Grover (won the 50 free at 22.30). As a team, UCLA dominated the distance freestyle events, placing the top four swimmers in the 1000 free and recording five of the top six times in the 500 free.
