Bears Fall To Arizona On Road

Matt Bradley's game-high 21 points weren't enough as Cal came up short at Arizona on Saturday.

TUCSON, Ariz. – Matt Bradley scored a game-high 21 points, but California was unable to keep pace with Arizona in a 71-50 loss to the Wildcats on Saturday afternoon at the McKale Center.
 
Bradley made 7-of-10 from the field and tied his career high with five 3-pointers. Joel Brown was the only other Bear in double figures, adding 10 points. Cal (7-12, 2-10 Pac-12) shot just 38.3 percent and committed 16 turnovers in its fourth straight loss.
 
Arizona (13-4, 7-4 Pac-12) was paced by James Akinjo's 20-point performance while three other Wildcats scored in double figures.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Bears were slow out of the gate, making two of its first 12 shots. Trailing, 25-9, late in the first half, two 3-pointers from Ryan Betley and Bradley pulled Cal within 12 at the 4:16 mark. A layup by Brown as time expired sent the Bears to the locker room with a 37-22 deficit.
 
Two 3-pointers from Brown and Bradley opened the second half, but the Wildcats kept full momentum, shooting 50 percent (12-of-24) from the field over the final 20 minutes of action. Cal made six of its final eight field goal attempts, including a pair by Brown.
