Bird, Stigall Named Scholar Athletes Of The Month In January
CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State gymnastics' Kayla Bird and wrestling's Lane Stigall have been named the Oregon State Scholar-Athletes of the Month for January.
Bird, a Phoenix native, is majoring in human development and family science and was a 2020 WCGA Scholastic All-American. She hit 28 of 29 routines as a freshman in 2020. Most recently, on Friday, she posted a score of 9.875 on the floor in Tempe, Ariz. She has a 4.0 grade point average.
Stigall, a Aurora, Ore. native and biology major, is a redshirt junior this season and carries a 3.97 GPA. He went 17-16 in his first year with the Beavers, 2019-20, and is 3-4 this season. He carries a two-match win streak into the Beavers' Feb. 7 quad at Gill Coliseum.
