Charisma Osborne Named UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week
Sophomore guard Charisma Osborne from the UCLA women's basketball team has been selected the UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by Ready, earning honors for Jan. 25-31. It is Osborne's second-consecutive Student-Athlete of the Week accolade.
Charisma Osborne scored 27 points in UCLA's victory over Arizona State on Friday, Jan. 29. It was her fifth-straight 20+ point performance, as she is now averaging 24.6 points over her last five contests She has also moved into the Pac-12 scoring lead at 19.3 points per game. Osborne scored 13 of her 27 in the fourth quarter, including a stretch in which she knocked down a triple on three-straight possessions early in the fourth quarter. It was her fifth-straight game with at least three triples. The Moreno Valley, Calif., native kept her composure at the free throw line, going 8-for-9 from the charity stripe. She was strong on the glass, grabbing six rebounds for her fifth-straight game with at least five boards. Osborne was also active on defense, grabbing a pair of steals and one block in the win.
This is Osborne's third UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week award of the season and third of her career. She earned the honor last week after putting up 24 points and grabbing nine rebounds in UCLA's victory over then-No. 5 Stanford (Jan. 22).
