Jehlárová Named Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week

SAN FRANCISCO  Washington State Volleyball's Magda Jehlářová was named as the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week for the week of Jan. 25-Jan. 31 as announced by the Pac-12 Conference office Tuesday afternoon.

The sophomore middle from Prerov, Czech Republic earns her second career Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week honor, her first during this spring season. Magda began the week with a dominate performance in a five-set thriller against the Sun Devils of Arizona State where she posted two solo blocks, along with five overall block assists. Her offense was just as impactful during this Pac-12 victory with 11 kills on 20 attacks for a hitting percentage of .400, along with added one service ace and two digs to her stat sheet.

Jehlářová continued to look just as impressive in match number two, totaling two solo blocks and five block assists once again to help the Cougars down ASU in four sets. Magda's offense was on fire during this contest as she totaled 11 kills on 19 attacks, hitting .526 overall, and added two aces in the win. 

Washington State returns to action Thursday, Feb. 4, as the Cougars will host No. 18 UCLA in a Pac-12 match, slated for a 6 p.m. start inside Bohler Gym.
