BOULDER — After playing just five games during the 2020 season, the Colorado lacrosse team is more than ready to get the 2021 season going.

The schedule, which was released Wednesday, has the Buffaloes playing 15 regular-season contests, seven at home and eight on the road. Ten of those games will be against Pac-12 Conference opponents, as CU will play each of the five other conference schools twice, but the Buffs will also play five non-conference games.

For the third straight season, CU will start competition on the road against a pair of first-time opponents. The Buffs will open play against Louisville on February 18 before heading to Nashville to play Vanderbilt on February 21. Colorado will start a five-game homestand at Kittredge Field against Denver on February 28, its first of two against the Pioneers.

Oregon will visit Boulder on March 12 to open Pac-12 play before CU hosts former conference foe, San Diego State, on March 14. The following week the Buffs will entertain Stanford and Cal, March 20 and 22, respectively, to wrap-up the busy homestand.

CU will hit the road to take on Southern California on March 26 in Los Angeles before heading to Tempe, Ariz. to finish the first half of league play against Arizona State.

April will be a very busy and important month. The second part of conference play will begin the way it ended as USC and ASU come to Boulder. USC will be in town first on April 2, while ASU will visit on April 4, which will also be the final regular-season home game for the Buffs.

The following three contests will all be Pac-12 road games: Stanford (April 9), Cal (April 11) and Oregon (April 23). The Buffs wrap-up their schedule on April 29 with an in-state rivalry game against the Pioneers in Denver.

The Pac-12 Tournament is set to take place May 5-8 in Palo Alto, Calif., with Stanford serving as the host. The NCAA Tournament field will be announced on May 9. The first and second rounds will take place May 14-16, respectively, while the quarterfinals are slated for May 22 and 23. The semifinals are scheduled for May 28 and the championship is May 30.

All dates and times are subject to change. Pac-12 Network TV games and other streams will be announced at a later date.
