SEATTLE – In the first of what is scheduled to be three meetings this season, the Husky women's tennis team scored a sweep of crosstown rival Seattle U. this afternoon at the Nordstrom Tennis Center. Washington (3-0) did not drop a set on the day and no set was closer than 6-3.

Zoey Weil and Ashley Chang were 6-0 winners at No. 3 over Martina Asciuto and Hannah Grossman. Completing the doubles point was a 6-2 win at No. 2 from freshmen Sarah-Maude Fortin and Yolanda Lin.
Moving in to singles, the Huskies continued to roll. Gallagher was the first to finish, winning 6-0, 6-1 at the No. 2 spot over Jade Lancaster. Wong, ranked 74th in singles, closed out a 6-2, 6-0 win over Jade Lancaster in the top match. The clinching point came from freshman Tara Chilton at six singles, where she defeated Aranza Alvarez Sanabria, 6-3, 6-0.
Maintaining the same singles lineup as the first two wins over Idaho last weekend, the Huskies also got straight-set wins from Fortin at No. 3, from Weil at No. 4, and from Lin at No. 5 singles.
The next match for the Huskies will be one week from today against these same Redhawks.
