Sun Devil Track and Cross Country Programs in Action this Weekend

TEMPE – The Sun Devils return indoors to compete at the Arkansas Qualifier in Fayetteville, Arkansas this Friday. Field events at 12 p.m. (11 a.m. MST), followed by running events at 2 p.m. (1 p.m. MST). Twenty Sun Devils are set to compete. Cross country will send a group of 10 down to Tucson for Arizona's Arizona Invitational at the Rolling Hills Golf Club. The men's 8k kicks off at 3:45 p.m. followed by the women's 6k at 4:30 p.m. Northern Arizona and UCLA will also run.

The women's pole vault is an event to watch this Friday as the Sun Devils competing -- Sevanna Hanson, Tommi Hintnaus, and Haley Rayburn -- have been exchanging personal-best heights this season. Rayburn currently leads the Sun Devils women's pole vault with a height of 4.16m this season.
 
The men's 60-meter hurdles will be another showdown between senior Kentre Patterson and freshman Jamar Marshall Jr. as the two of them went toe-to-toe last week at the Texas Tech Invitational. Their personal best times were separated by just .01 of a second.
 
Cross country finally returns to the fields after an extended hiatus, ASU last competing Nov, 15, 2019 at the NCAA West Regionals.
