Sun Devils Host No. 22 Pepperdine Friday, NAU Sunday
TEMPE — ASU men's tennis (2-1) continues its four-game home stretch with an afternoon tilt against No. 22 Pepperdine Friday at 2 p.m. MST and a 3 p.m. Sunday matchup against Northern Arizona. Public attendance is not permitted, but live streaming and stats are available for both matches.
ASU is 7-15 all-time against the Waves, the teams last meeting in 2018 where the Sun Devils walked away with a 4-0 victory. ASU is 20-1 all-time against NAU.

Last time out
The Sun Devils showed up and showed out against GCU Wednesday night, shutting out the Lopes 7-0. Doubles pairs Max McKennon/Nathan Ponwith and George Stoupe/Moritz Hoffmann clinched the doubles point for ASU thanks to 6-3 and 7-5 victories at No. 1 and 3.
Christian Lerby secured the fourth point of the match with a three-set victory (6-3, 2-6, 7-6) at singles three following victories by McKennon and Ponwith at No. 4 and 1.
Scouting the Waves
Overall the waves are 0-1 after falling to No.11 Texas A&M in the ITA Kickoff weekend.

-Junior, Corrado Summaria ranks No. 90 in singles
- Power duo Daniel DeJonge/Adrian Oetzbach are ranked No. 34, and Tim Zeitvogel/Summaria rank No.58
-Freshman standout Guy Den Ouden made quite the noise this summer getting ranked No.1 on the ITA's Top-Ten Newcomers list.
- The Waves rank 18th in the Tennis Recruiting class poll for incoming 2021 freshmen.
Scouting the Lumberjacks
NAU opens its eason Sunday against ASU. The Lumberjacks were picked to finish fist in the Big Sky preseason poll for the third consecutive year. NAU earned six wins in the shortened 2020 season, topping Arizona, Louisiana and Texas A&M alongside GCU, Western New Mexico and UC Riverside. NAU returns seven veterans and adds three newcomers.
