Top-Ranked USC Men's Tennis Take On Three Teams At Marks Stadium
LOS ANGELES — The No. 1 USC men's tennis team looks to stretch its undefeated start to 2021 with a trio of teams on tap at Marks Stadium in coming days. First up, the Trojans (3-0) pull double duty in back-to-back matches on Friday (Feb. 5). At 10 a.m., USC takes on Saint Mary's before a 2 p.m. bout with UC Irvine that afternoon. On Sunday (Feb. 7), San Diego State comes to town for a noon showdown at USC.
USC head coach Brett Masi enters this week's competition just a win away from capturing his 200th career win as a head coach, holding a 199-93 overall record in his 12th season as a head coach.
USC continues its hold on the No. 1 spot in the ITA national team rankings this week. Individually, USC has five Trojans ranked in singles — led by two top-20 Trojans in No. 1 Daniel Cukierman and No. 19 Riley Smith. Cukierman and Smith also ranked No. 1 in doubles as one of a pair of ranked Trojan doubles duos to date.
So far in 2021, USC (2-0) is undefeated in all singles competition, having combined forces for a 28-0 singles mark with a perfect 13-0 record in dual matches to date. Leading the Trojan pack in singles wins so far are sophomore Stefan Dostanic and freshman Lodewijk Weststrate with 5-0 singles records to date.
No fans will be in attendance at Marks Stadium this week, but all matches will have a live scoreboard and live video for each court available HERE.
